Interested in majoring in History or Political Science?

Erskine’s history program prepares you with a thorough knowledge of the past and its application to the present.

Your studies will increase your understanding of cultural diversity, give you historical perspective on current events, and equip you to exercise ethical responsibility in our world today.

Erskine's political science program explores how politics relates to history, culture, economics, geography, and social systems. This holistic approach to political science will help you understand current political events within their historical and social contexts. You will also examine the relationship between Christianity and politics and address the real-life challenges of building just and peaceful political communities.

Interested in majoring in Chemistry?

Erskine has a long tradition of excellence in chemistry. As a chemistry major, you will learn from dedicated faculty and enjoy access to the Daniel•Moultrie Science Center, including laboratory, instructional, and research areas. Our students have participated in research, both at Erskine and at other institutions, and many have continued their education in medical school and other advanced degree programs.

Choose between two tracks within the chemistry major, depending on your educational and career interests.

  • The Bachelor of Science in Chemistry prepares you for graduate work in M.S. and Ph.D. programs, or for a career as an industrial or governmental chemist. You can further specialize the B.S. degree through a biochemistry or environmental emphasis.
  • The Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry is ideal if you are interested in pre-medical, pre-dental, or pre-pharmacy studies. You may also choose to complete a B.A. in Chemistry with an emphasis in biochemistry.
